We didn't go out today, Jeff and I decided to stay at home the whole day. We cleaned the patio and the pool after the sun is gone with Mackenzie on her stroller watching us. It's hot outside even though I turned on the fan and the misters. I was thinking to jump in the swimming pool but I didn't coz it was starting to get dark when I finished cleaning the floor, chairs and tables. We were doing a little cleaning for our pool party on Tuesday with our Filipina friends. I'm gonna share photos here for sure.
Anyway, I am here in bed relaxing and will watch movie with Jeff in a minute. While waiting for Jeff, I am reading about Chlorine cures in parenting magazine. This is very important tips for us parents on how to deal with chlorine effects when our kids spend more time in the swimming pool. After a while, all that chlorine can take a toll on their skin, eyes, and hair. There's no need to cut back on their water play, but we can counteract the effects with a few simple steps.
Skin - Chlorine dries out skin. So we need to rinse our child off under the shower during rest periods and once we're home. Sunscreen is enough to moisturize their skin during the day, then apply lotion after their bedtime bath.Anyway, I am here in bed relaxing and will watch movie with Jeff in a minute. Eyes - Wearing goggles is the best way to minimize redness and irritation.
Hair - To avoid dried-out locks (chlorine's fault) and a mossy green dye job (from the copper-based fungicide), thoroughly wet your child's hair before she jumps in. If hair is saturated with fresh water, it will absorb less pool water. Rinse hair after pool time too.
